Of the Moment | Love Lace
Even when it came to wedding gowns, lace was last. The frilly stuff of doilies, as well as antique fashions and the boho chic looks they inspire went the way of sequins when minimalism hit the scene. Then designers across the board dusted it off with brilliant, modern interpretations like unusual silhouettes (prim pencil skirts, trousers, coats) in all-over lace, and wild hues a Pantone panoply away from classic black, white and ivory. Where they didn’t go all out, they added a touch here and there from insets to hems. Clearly, lace has made its case.
