Monday Muse x David Webb

For more than 70 years, David Webb has been the quintessential American jeweler of highly original, modern jewelry. In 1948 he formed David Webb Inc., setting up shop on 57th Street in New York City. Within a few years, David Webb had established himself as the ‘go to’ jeweler in Manhattan, and at the height of production his two full-time workshops employed 200 jewelers and 37 setters. Best known for his distinctive carved and enameled animal bracelets, dramatic gold necklaces, colorful sautoirs, Maltese cross brooches, dynamic use of pearls and diamonds, and exquisite rock crystal pieces. In 2010, the company was sold to Sima Ghadamian, Mark Emanuel and Robert Sadian. The three plan to carry forward the rich tradition of design, craftsmanship and creativity drawing on the immense archives of illustrations, models and molds, that represent the legacy of David Webb, a unique American genius.
