Go Ahead... Sneak A Little

Federica Rettore

Italian by birth and culture, but sought after the world over, Federica Rettore is a jewelry artisan of the highest caliber. Each of her pieces is a small sculpture to be marveled at, and proves that fantasy has no boundaries. Her skilled eye for harmony leads to timeless treasures made from traditional elements in unexpected ways. Rettore’s wit shows through unparalleled in the highlighting of semiprecious stones, rough hewn precious gems, and the tendency towards the organic. She proceeds with as much care in readying two collections a year to meet demand for “fashion trend volatility,” as she does for her custom creations made to satisfy the desires and needs of her most demanding customers. Federica has accumulated many awards over the years, but most recently took 2nd place at the 2010 Couture Jewelry Design Awards for her 18k pink gold, black zebu horn and ebony bracelet (shown below) with white and brown diamonds. Also shown is Rettore's black zebu horn necklace, also with white and brown diamonds.

Mattia Cielo

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Mattia Cielo and Massimiliano Bonoli, the duo behind the eponymous jewelry brand offers up what has been categorized as Metamorphic Dynamism. Each piece is truly unique and features elements of architecture, nature, and something beyond. Their aim is to create a new style of jewelry, to rewrite the architectural rules of jewelry, and to unite the extraordinary qualitites of traditional, craft jewelry making with the energy of industrial design and new materials. Titanium blends 18k White Gold and Diamonds in their Ghiaccio Bracelet (shown below) which took home the first place prize in the Diamond Category at the 2010 Couture Jewlery Design Awards, and animals like the iguana, peacock, and armadillo have inspired pieces so innately ethereal but ingeniously logical.
