Coat on Color | Of the Moment

Perhaps we have Steve Jobs to thank for the current burst of colorful outerwear. After Apple’s visionary freed technology from its drab palette, designers rethought color options for categories of all kinds from cars to coats. It used to be that savvy dressers relied on a classic tan trench and black cashmere button down to get through chillier seasons. But that’s all fallen by the wayside as even the most subdued fashion brands present a slew of hues in biblical proportions (pun intended). Whether cobalt blue, hot pink or bold floral and tribal prints, these coats of many colors pop against gray skies.
