Zac Posen | Fall RTW 2013
A salon-style setting at The Plaza hotel’s Terrace Room suited Zac Posen’s collection, the old world grandeur of the venue echoed in the clothes. They both heralded the glamour of getting dressed up. Now that Posen has three collections — designer, contemporary and the lower-priced Z Spoke — he considers his main line to be about fantasy and romance, which came through in the moody femininity of a gray velvet and chiffon draped skirt and the architectural sweep of an elegant camel coat. Posen knows how to work an hourglass shape and missed no opportunity to accentuate womanly curves, whether via dramatic gowns with anatomical seaming or elaborately constructed duchesse peplum tops. His new bid gives a modern girl the chance to wear pants at night and still glam it up. WWD
