Trending Tourmaline | Of The Moment:
Every year a new stone is highlighted at Couture and becomes the seasons’ new gemstone trend. This year tourmalines rocked the floor and were translated by designers across the board. Why tourmaline? Tourmaline comes in a variety of colors, saturations and hues. In fact, tourmaline is often referred to in the industry as “gemstone of the rainbow.” It is a spectrum of colors that pairs beautifully with fall and resort ready-to-wear. For example, Brunello Cucinelli’s soft pink and dove grey cashmere, Oscar de la Renta’s radiant orchid or fuchsia accessories and Etro’s poppy prints - naturally, tourmaline is perfectly complementary.
To prepare our jewelry gallery for season, we filled our cases with vibrate pink, mint and moss green earrings, rings and pendants from Irene Neuwirth, whose new collection is an explosion of tourmaline colors. Tamara Comolli was inspired by shading and fun, mixing pink tourmaline, amethyst, mandarin garnet and lavender pink morganite. Inbar’s favorite tourmaline color is indigo blue and she combined it with diamonds and mother-of -pearl. Arunashi and Yossi Harari were allured by the rare Mediterranean ocean color of Paraiba and produced one-of-a-kind treasures.
