To the Point

You either get it or you don’t; right? I’ve always found that the best approach to things, fashion included, is to be direct and get straight to the point. The softness of spring and the heat of summer are coming to pass while cozy layers and crisp edges are beginning to peek in for fall. One blip on Marissa Collection's style radar that we see clear into Resort and Spring 2012 is the pointed toe. The feminine curve of traditional ballet flats and retro inspired pumps has given way to a sharper and certainly striking point.

The Lanvin pointed toe metallic rosette ballet flat leads the pack for Fall 2011. Its beautiful golden luster works well for the current season, transitioning easily into a vibrant Resort and Spring. Pair them with pencil thin trousers and a chunky sweater now and then with a filmy top and flirty skirt for the warmer months. Not to fear though, Lanvin and flat isn’t your only option. We saw the razor sharp trend featured at designer showrooms like Oscar de la Renta, Miu Miu, and Valentino.

So no more pussy-footing around, go direct for the present and welcome the pointed toe for the future.
