"Super" Fashion

"Super" Fashion

As promised in my last blog post ... I give you my "Super" blog.

Inspired by a few of my favorite (and totally bias - as I LOVE these characters) female comic book characters. It's been raining down here in ever-sunny Naples, Florida as we await Hurricane Issac; so I wanted to bring a bit of fun for everyone - including a few of our clients who watched our shoots unfold.

I rallied the stylists downstairs to get a few looks together - handing them an image for "inspiration" - the ladies totally ROCKED it! Scroll down to see the inspirational image and the accompanying look - along with how the models and stylists feel about it.

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Stacy was Peter Parker’s first love before Mary Jane Watson. She first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 (1965). Gwen is ranked #89 in Comics Buyer’s Guide’s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list. To me, Gwen is the typical girl-next-door: sweet, smart, and supportive.

Nicole, styled by Marissa, channels her inner Gwen Stacy and feels “powerful, with my boots and cape, I feel so powerful.”

Harley Quinn, is the Joker’s girlfriend and accomplice in Batman. First appearing in 1992, she is usually dressed in a traditional harlequin jester. Harley Quinn is ranked #45 in Comics Buyer’s Guide’s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list. Harley Quinn is fun, sassy, and totally confident. It takes a lot of confidence to run around in a black and red color-blocked jumpsuit.

Lea, styled by Isle, flaunts her Harley Quinn inspired look and feels “Dynamite, I feel like all eyes on me, I can take control, I feel fierce!”

Meow! One of my favorites, Catwoman is an adversary of Batman, having a love/hate (often romantic) relationship with him. Her first appearance was in Batman #1 (Spring 1940) and she was a whip-carrying burglar with a taste for high-stake thefts. Catwoman is ranked #23 in Comics Buyer’s Guide’s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list. A woman who prefers to wear all black leather is not one I want to mess with!

Monica, styled by herself and Marissa, brings the leather-clad lady down to everyday wear by softening it with a light peplum top. Channeling Catwoman’s taste for expensive jewels, she pulls the look together with a gorgeous Irene Neuwirth Labradorite necklace.

Poison Ivy - quite possible the most seductive of them all - first appeared in Batman #181 (1966). Poison Ivy actually has super powers, one of them being her intoxicating kisses. Poison Ivy’s first kiss is poison and her second is antidote. Poison Ivy is ranked #21 in Comic Buyer’s Guide’s “100 Sexiest Women in Comics” list.

Derice just LOVES Poison Ivy. Styling herself, she fell right into character and says, “I love this dress. I never ever want to take it off.”

BAM! POW! KABOOM!

Super fun fashion to chase the rain away!

Cheers,
