Sing the Blues | Of the Moment
Never say never: Denim on denim is back, but before one has visions of bad fashion choices in the Seventies and Eighties, believe us that it’s incredibly tasteful this go-around. After seasons of skinny jeans in every wash but traditional light blue, chambray also makes a big splash again. Casual fabrics in every shade of blue translate to designer resort collections through more structured silhouettes for a broader range of occasions. Jumpsuits, bustiers, fitted and blouson blazers, and bubble and pencil skirts all receive a dose of denim. Avoid the retro “Texas tuxedo” by pairing tops and bottoms of different, interesting proportions. And if all else fails, just break out the jean jacket.
