Runway Review | Viktor & Rolf Pre-Fall 2014
Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren’s new Paris store inspired the designers’ pre-fall collection. Looking to its dark felt interior, they combined gray suiting fabric and wool yarn with their signature ruffles, bow and flowers, while the boutique’s industrial trompe l’oeil paneling gave way to shadow tailoring on a tailored jacket done in bonded black rubbery panels.
Elsewhere, a flannel skirt with asymmetric frills was worn with a matching short double-breasted jacket, and a bonded wool cardigan topped a short dress with a flattened bow at its front. As for accessories, there were big buckles on black patent-leather shoes and on the straps of handbags.
