It isn’t just because the New York- and Montreal-based collection favors European silks and brocades, but also due to creative director Don O’Neill’s craftsmanship and eye for detail. In an odd twist, he’s Irish. After studying fashion in his homeland, he trained with top couturiers in London, Christian Lacroix in Paris, and Carmen Marc Valvo and Badgley Mischka in New York. When Theia was founded in 2009, he came along as the right man for the job.

His pieces find that sweet spot between wearability and femininity with special touches whether all-over texture, bold color blocking or the sophisticated placement of a cutout. High quality fabrics and prints speak for themselves, too. With his keen sense of what women want, getting dressed for the next gala or garden party never seemed easier.
