Runway Review | Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2014

Inspired by Josef Hoflehner’s photographs of Icelandic landscapes, Alberta Ferretti picked up sea, storm and night sky themes for pre-fall, often in one look, such as the beautiful jacquard coat that had visual impact and a sense of romance. There were also fluid dresses and chic fur coats, including one navy-and-black stunner that mixed ponyskin, mink and fox. Even the new denim pieces looked feminine when Ferretti treated them with artful metal embroidery.

For her Limited Edition lineup, the designer focused on eveningwear. Highlights included a sequined top teamed with a billowing silk duchesse skirt with tulle overlay — fit for a modern-day princess.
