Stripes, especially in Mod black and white at Marissa, are seeing the light of day again, but this round isn’t putting out just the classics. Designers play with proportion in wider stripes and multiple widths, as well as with direction for a hodgepodge of twists and turns on a single garment. (Though the look is entirely doable in bottoms, everyone can feel at ease in tops and knitwear.)The results lend more depth for visually interesting pieces that make former preppy (the rugby), professional (pinstripes) and nautical (French Breton) stripes feel a little flat. It just shows how one must earn his stripes more than ever now.
