There was a lovely sense of ease at Derek Lam for resort, which was inspired by Twenties Art Deco silhouettes and the languid dunes of North Africa. “I was thinking a lot about two-piece dressing, the new suit,” the designer said. One such version in cashmere and leather featured a cropped top teamed with a skirt patterned in an arrowhead shape; another, more urban variation came in simple gray fleece. Lam also had some great textured dresses made from lacquered lace and paired with gold leaf-heeled sandals.
