Every garment tells a story. If my closet could speak it would be a lively conversation about cross country voyages and unique experiences.
While combing through my closet recently I came across this Michael Kors pony print skirt from his Fall 2009 Collection. I wore it only one time, to attend evening events at Art Basel in Miami as well as at Liv Nightclub. While the skirt and I had a fantastic time dancing the night away next to a mix of Miami’s elite, the art scene, and those who come from both camps, it hasn’t seen the light of day since.
I pulled it out of my closet today and thought, “How can I bring this animal print back to life in a new way that I could wear during the day?” My initial thought was to do something completely dressed down, pairing maybe a basic white tank and gobs of jewelry.
Then I laid eyes on this beautiful Schumacher cashmere cardigan in scarlet red and just knew the pop of color would be perfect; especially when keeping it fairly neutral with the Wolford tank top in mocca I wore underneath.
I think it was pulled together, professional, and just what the skirt needed to showcase the pony print in a different way.
