Every season there seems to be a predominating shape to garments across the board; like designers are all working on a similar wavelength. Trend forecasting plays a huge roll in determining the silhouettes that will be most popular; however, fashion seems like it is having a free-for-all moment. The Marissa Collections Buying Team was recently in the Acne show room to view the Resort 2012 collection and nowhere was the fashion melee more apparent. Cropped styles were the most prevalent, in a relaxed distressed denim and trousers both coming just to the ankle. We also saw a slightly flared version that looked great with stacked high heels. The wide leg trouser does not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, and the easy look they lend to an outfit is perfect for day or evening. The most interesting idea, which we’ve all seen before but never executed as well, was the layering of pants underneath dresses and skirts. What are your thoughts on pairing pants with dresses?
